DRIVE Electric Arizona June 2024 Newsletter

ABOUT US
DRIVE Electric Arizona is Arizona's statewide "Drive Electric" program developed as an Arizona non-profit corporation under the DRIVE Electric USA Initiative. With grant funding from the Department of Energy, and in partnership with 27 states across the country, DRIVE Electric Arizona's mission is to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles. Currently, DRIVE Electric Arizona’s three chapters are Valley of the Sun, Three Rivers Tribes, and Route 66 Kingman.

Launched in January 2024, the all-volunteer organization and its partners educate consumers, utilities, utility regulators, and government officials. They engage auto dealers and fleet leaders, in addition to assisting with EV infrastructure planning.

ADOT Fast Charger Deployment Plan Virtual Meeting

ADOT is seeking public input on a proposed update to its Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan that would add nine state highway segments to a planned network of fast-charging stations.


The virtual meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, on the proposal to add the following to a list that currently includes all interstate freeways, US 89, and portions of US 93 and state routes 64, 87,95 and 347:


US 60: Wickenburg to Phoenix

US 60: Phoenix to Globe

US 60: Show Low to New Mexico

US 93: Wickenburg to I-40

US 95: Quartzsite to San Luis

US 160: US 89 to Four Corners

SR 68: US 93 to Bullhead City

SR 80: Bisbee to Douglas

SR 90: I-10 to Bisbee

Valley of the Sun EVA members joined DRIVE Electric Arizona at the Heard Museum on June 22 for a family-friendly day of self-expression through music, dance, poetry, fashion, movement, and art activities. This Free Summer Saturday program was presented in partnership with SRP.

ELECTRIC HYPER SUV @ BESPOKEV


All of our gatherings are a good time - and there was something extra special at the June BESPOKEV  Cars and Coffee event! With its top speed of 165 mph, guests were thrilled to have first-hand access to the gorgeous Lotus Eletre that was on display. Thank you to all of our members who joined us for this unique, quarterly event, hosted by our friends at BESPOKEV.
